  1. Pacific Killer Whales
    2007
    Original: 24in x 36in
    Acrylic on canvas

Growing up on the Pacific Ocean and spending my summers on Piers Island BC we would occasionally have a sighting of J Pod & K Pod as well as many transient Orcas passing thru our Coastal Straits. Always a treat to see and witness them in the wild and this really defines “West Coast” for many of us growing up on the coast.

  2. Tug & Killers
    2007
    Original: 8in x 24in
    Acrylic on canvas

While fishing the Georgia Strait at the mouth of the Fraser River. I have always been inspired by the way marine traffic and nature can coexist in our pristine waterways. Nice we can all find our space and carry on through our busy coastal highways.

  3. On Guard, Whistler Peak
    2008
    Original: 18in x 72in
    Acrylic on canvas

On Guard was inspired from our Canadian Military Elite patrolling the Whistler back country durn the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Innukshuk continues to stand to guide and watch over the coastal mountains today.
Black Tusk(the remains of a ancient Volcano cone) which towers over the snowy peaks around Whistler peak is a beauty in itself, both Innukshuk and Tusk compliment each other on the top of the world.

  4. Skeena Sunshine
    2009
    Original: 12in x 36in
    Acrylic on canvas

My annual Steelhead adventures always lead me to Skeena Country.
A warm Log home on the banks of the Kalum River just outside of Terrace BC ,waits for my arrival.
This is where my heart lies in my pursuit of chrome fish.

Looking down the Skeena river in Terrace you will see Sleeping Beauty Mountain range laying snow covered & prepared for the cold winter ahead. Catching a fresh sea run wild chrome Steelhead in this country shines like the sun. Cold mornings, crisp white mist and the shriek of the Bald eagles wake me to start my daily adventure.

  5. Thompson Dream
    2006
    Original: 12in x 48in
    Acrylic on canvas

They say Steelhead are a fish of a thousand casts..

Spey casting steelhead flies all day over and over again on the Thompson River in search of a chrome fish to fool.Driving the back road until Martel Islands start to appear as the sun comes up over the Fall frosted Sage brush hills. Waist deep in the cold fall water, I dream about my next tug on my fly line….may I never wake up.

  6. Dead Pass
    2009
    Original: 24in x 36in
    Acrylic on canvas

I was introduced to the band “The Grateful Dead” In the late 80’s. it always amazed me the colours of the many tie dyed Deadheads and characters at these shows. I wanted to create a piece that was like one of the old rock posters from the early years. Full of movement, whimsical giant mushrooms towering over the trees and sunshine over the mountains. I found a lot of creativity in those days and it shows to this day in my artwork.

  7. Thompson Twins
    2004
    Original: 24in x 30in
    Acrylic on canvas

For the last 15 years, I have been summer dry fly fishing for Rainbow trout on the Thompson River around Spences Bridge BC.
The first few weeks of July after the high spring run off resides, are prime with trout feeding on dries and big weighted Stonefly nymphs. Days are baking hot, rolling mountains of Sage brush and the feeling I’m at my happy place…

  8. Maui Sea Turtles
    2013
    Original: 18in x 72in
    Acrylic on canvas

The calm clear blue waters on Honolua Bay on Maui in the Hawaiian Islands gives me a chance to explore and open up a new world under the sea.
“Honu” – Green Sea Turtles spend most of their lives in the water but lay their eggs in sand.
My highlight every time I return to Maui, is to swim with the Honu.

  9. Tidal Pool
    2004
    Original: 12in x 24in
    Acrylic on canvas

Fond memories of mid 70’s camping on Long Beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Back when you could drive your camper on to the beach and make log forts out of the beach wood.

The tides would go out and leave pockets of sea life. These would leave any child with thoughts of wonder.
I always liked the different coloured Starfish, crabs and Sculpin that seamed to be on their own vacation too until the incoming tide would bring them home

  10. Quadra Island , Summer 97
    2003
    Original: 36in x 60in
    Acrylic on canvas

Well what do I say… Free living on Quadra & Cortez Islands.

From combing the beaches of Masons Landing & Squirrel Cove ,walking Rebecca Spit Park in the dark watching the Phosphorescence, sipping cold beers at Herriot Bay or hanging with the local Islanders these islands are a gem in our beautiful Gulf waterway. This piece really sums up the colourful expression that was my “Summer 97”

  11. Black Tusk
    2006
    Original: 8in x 24in
    Acrylic on canvas

Black Tusk mountain is part of Garibaldi Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada.
It’s a local landmark here in the Sea to Sky country just outside of Whistler BC and is a member of the Volcanic Peaks that run from Southwestern BC to Northern California.

I have great memories when I first moved to Whistler back in the late 80’s climbing up Black Tusk to snowboard the natural bowls below the Volcanic rock in early fall snowfalls. I think the first ascent of Black Tusk was 1912

A special place and beautiful sight that competes over the local peaks.

  12. Poppy
    2013
    Original: 9in x 12in
    Acrylic on canvas

Wanting to stick with a whimsical theme, I included everything a young two year old girl, Miss Poppy Royal would like. Having her name “Poppy” was naturally a perfect theme and with the heat of the sun, movement of the butterflies, this piece shines almost as bright as my little friend Poppy.

A gift for my good friends Jeremy & Carla Royal’s daughter.

    2014
    24 in x 36 in

The Squamish Chief is the massive mountain of Granite that towers over beautiful Squamish. A rock climbers paradise, this mass has amazed everyone as they journey up the Sea to Sky Highway.

  14. Tantalus Dragons
    2014
    18 in x 36 in
    Original Acrylic on canvas

Tantalus Range is a stunning group of coastal mountains lying north of Squamish on the drive to Whistler.
